In the past few years we have had numerous requests for a family trek during the Summer and over the year-end holiday period. In Nepal participant will join the family of Journeys Director Pemba Sherpa and Nawang Sherpa for a trek to the Annapurna, Gorkha area of central Nepal.
Other Journeys staff will also be invited with members of the family. This should provide an unprecedented opportunity for cross-cultural experience, especially for the children. On the past family trek, it has been our experience that the kids often do better than the parents in adjusting to trail, routines, climbing hills and acclimatizing to altitude, food and local culture. We suggest a minimum age of 3 years. We will have converted porters baskets outfitted for carrying kids up to 50 lb (23Kg.) if they get tired. Participants with more than 18 days travel time will take a trip to Chitwan National Park for an elephant Safari after the trek. Please write us for more detail.
