DHAULAGIRI TREK

More than 8000m at its summit and including several 7000m shoulder peaks, the massif is almost 100km long. The southern slopes receive an intense monsoon in summer and are covered in rich, verdant forest. To the south, the thick jungles of the foothills and the hot plains of India stretch out before you. The isolated valleys to the north of DHAULAGIRI are one of the driest regions of Nepal. The remoteness of the area offers a diversity of cultural, scenery, and natural history as varied as the mountain itself.

This is an exploratory trek in to the central part of the Dhaulagiri himal. Your trek heads west from Pokhara towards the Kali Gandaki River which cuts between the Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri forming one of the World's deepest gorges. You will trek along the Kali Gandaki for two days and than turn up the Myangdi Khola passing through several small, remote villages. This will be the height of the autumn harvest season and the villages and field will be bustling with activity. Ask for detail day to day description.
