The Everest area is great for trekking even in the summer now that there is year around air service to Lukla. If you visit fabled Khumbu with one of our Sherpa guides from May through July you will be surprised by the scarcity of other trekkers and by the spectacular seasonal beauty. Beginning with rhododendrons in May, flowers bloom through the spring and summer in the high forest and meadows. Everest does not get a monsoon like Kathmandu or the lower valleys. Summer is the season of festivals, marriages and planting in the high Sherpa villages. You will enjoy cross-cultural experiences through extensive contact with Sherpa people, staying with very small groups in local homes and guest houses.
