always taking good care of us, watching out for and dealing efficiently
with all the unexpected (leeches, weather changes, canceled flight, washed
out bridges - all the delights of
Nepal). We felt that he went above and beyond making our trip a
pleasant one, as well as an informative one. It was nice meeting
Pemba at the beginning end, and I appreciated his getting me to a doctor
in Kathmandu. Bala for his constant guidance, friendliness and knowledge
of the trails, weather and people. Mama, the porter, for all the
work he did and for always making sure we were taken care of he too, did
more than was required of a porter.
